04/21/2008 -- LET`S THINK ABOUT THIS? OK, Let`s stop and think about this for a moment and toss some figures around. The market on Coaches is kind of soft right now which makes it a great time for buyers. I`m sure that most of it relates to the cost of Diesel Fuel (although the Economy is a concern also) so let`s run some figures. Let`s use 10,000 miles as as average yearly mileage on a Prevost, if you`ll check out the average yearly mileage on the Coaches on my website you`ll find out that most owners don`t travel more then 10,000 miles a year. Anyway having said all of that it`s been my own personal experience the 45` XLV & XLV II non slide Series 60 Coaches will average right at 8 mpg at 70 mph so that means they would use 1250 gallons @ 8 mpg to travel the 10,000 miles that we spoke of earlier. Diesel fuel here locally was $2.80 a gallon last Summer, I paid $4.10 for it today and just maybe it will drop back a little but we won`t count on that happening anytime soon. The difference between the $4.10 and the $2.80 is $1.30 per gallon. If you multiply the $1.30 X 1250 gallons per year (fuel used @ 8 mpg for 10,000 miles) that comes out to $1,625 more per year to cover the same 10,000 miles. OK, $1,625 is a chunk of change but it doesn"t seem like that much if you`re having fun! OK so now let`s take the 8V92 Coaches for example, it`s been a while since I`ve averaged the fuel mileage on one of them but from what I`ve been told we`ll use 5 1/2 mpg at 70 mph which computes out to 1,818 gallons to cover the same 10,000 miles which means you would spend an additional $2,363 more per year which still isn`t terrible if you`re having fun and enjoy traveling in a Prevost! If this is flawed thinking on my part, please let me know! |

05/14/2007 -- ???????????????? The WOG-01 is still available and I don`t know why, It`s a pretty Coach, 2001 new body style, only 23,000 miles and the owner is anxious to sell! One of the holdups I`m sure is the fact that the Converter Angola Coach is no longer around but there are plenty of places that are familiar with the Angola Conversions and are capble of working on it, the beauty of it is the Coach doesn`t need anything but a new owner! Take a close look at this Coach and notice the 2 entrances to the private toilet closet, great floor plan! |

Not all of the Coaches have this option, I believe it depends on the resolution of the picture when it was sent to us, I`m still learning! |

08/27/2005 -- HELP PHIL FIGURE THIS OUT! Please correct me if I`m wrong. I`m seeing a bit of a panic here with owners taking less then they should for their Coaches and buyers being hesitant to jump on a deal and I think it all gets back to the price of fuel on todays market. Reason this out with me, we are paying approx. $1.00 more per gallon for Diesel then we were a year ago, I believe the average mileage is around 12,000 miles per year, lets take 6 mpg. average on an 8V92 Coach, that`s 2,000 gallons of Diesel to travel 12,000 miles so that means you will pay $2,000 more to cover those same 12,000 miles so if we are only spending $2,000 more per year why are owners willing to panic and take $20,000 less (or more) for their Coaches and why are buyers hesitant to jump on a deal like that? Keep in mind those figures are for an 8V92 Coach and it would only be around $1,500 more then last year to cover the same miles in a Series 60 Coach. This has been bugging me for a while so I thought I would throw it out there for something to think about, if I`m missing something in this equation please let me know. 9-01-05 "Ok since I reasoned this out the devastating Hurricane Katrina has changed everything so you can throw the above figures out the window and add at least .50 cents a gallon so it`s back to the Calculators" Phil |

Tom was driving his personal Coach through Carbon Hill, Alabama last night (Friday) when he was Side Swiped by a White late 80`s to early 90`s Camaro that left the scene. The car will have heavy damage to the drivers side as does Tom`s Coach. Tom realizes the chances of catching up to this gentleman are remote but thought it was worth giving it a try anyway. The good news is when the Prevost Facility in Jacksonville finishes the repairs they will have the Coach looking better then new! |
